Food and Coffee, Recipes

I can't believe it is already Sunday! But it was a good weekend- yesterday I got the whole day of from studying and I was with Rose taking pictures and then Bee came by for dinner. We made Vietnamese spring rolls. Rose and I walked down to an Asian Supermarket, which is close to my apartment and we got a bunch of delicious things to put in them. We also made out own soy sauce and tahini sauce to dip the rolls in. And my all time favorite- ginger chili cucumbers in rice vinegar. The food was soooo good! I think I ate like 10 rolls haha- and we rolled them ourselves at the table. So each roll could have something different in it. I love coriander, so I always stuff as much of that as possible haha. The nice thing about this is that you can put anything you want in the rolls. Yesterday we went for a full on veggie meal, but sometimes it is nice with shrimp or salmon inside. I think Vietnamese spring rolls are a great idea for dinner, not only does it look amazing, but people can customize it to their own taste. So if you are not sure what to make for friends coming over- this is definitely a good option! Well, I am going back to studying now! Enjoy what is left of the weekends guys ❤️

Copenhagen, Food and Coffee

Happy Saturday everyone! I can't believe how beautiful the weather is today. I just love it when the air is a bit crisp but it is still sunny. I honestly can not wait for winter- days like this during the winter season are my favourite. Especially if there is snow, then I am the happiest ever. I love sitting at home under a blanket, reading a book or watching a movie with the snow outside falling. Haha I might be getting a bit ahead of myself and the time of the year- I mean it is only September! But I did find a nice cafe really close to school in Frederiskberg called Godthåb & Kaffe. It is so cozy and the ladies working there are so sweet! Ludi and I got coffee there last week so we could catch up after not seeing each other for... probably a year! I love exploring new coffee spots in Copenhagen, so I suppose I am very lucky I live in a place where there are hundreds of cool spots to find! This place gives out a really relaxing vibe! I can see myself sitting there and studying ( and the snow falling)- which I will probably start doing because I can never focus on school at home. Anyone who hasn't been there should deffinitely go!

Today I got up quite early considering it is the weekend. I think I was up around 8am- and I woke up by myself! How did that happen haha. So I have the whole day ahead of me. I want to go for a walk and maybe read a book. And in the evening some of my friends and I are going to play board games at Bastard Cafe in the city centre- we were there a few nights ago and it is so cool.  I have been looking for a place where it is possible to sit with more people and talk at the table- not like what you have at bars or clubs( it is impossible to hear what the other person is saying in places like that) and since I dont drink, going out to clubs isn't as fun as it once used to be! So I am happy I found a place, which allows those who want to to drink and those who don't can have a cup of tea , while enjoying a nice conversation- and playing some board games! Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Copenhagen, Food and Coffee

One thing that made me fall in love with Copenhagen is the inexhaustible supply of cool cafés! Seriously, just walk around a corner and you find a nice place! It astonishes me that so many different places are all going strong! But I guess the Copenhageners love them some coffee! But then again who doesn't? The last place I stumbled upon is Ricco's on Sværtegade in the city centre. Tad and I stopped there for a shopping break- and since his head was sore from banging it in a door. He actually got a bump from it :(. Ricco's is a cool place- it is a chain of coffee shops all over Copenhagen, so you are always close to a Ricco's- but even though it is a chain, each place is unique! Not like Starbucks haha ( not that I don't like Starbucks). I always get a latte- my favourite coffee. I love latte art! I think I should put " learning latte art" on my bucket-list! I find it is so cool that you can "draw" with milk. Some of the latte art creations are insane! I remember the first time I saw my friend doing this and I thought it was from another world!

Tonight I am going to listen to some Jazz with my friends Ida and Rick. There is a concert at Huset KBH and I am so excited! When I lived in the Czech Republic we would go to concerts every week- and not like big fancy concerts, but small unknown bands. I think that is probably since most of my friends are musicians and all played in bands so there was always someone I knew playing. But I have to say, now that I stopped drinking going out clubbing just isn't doing it for me- so I feel like I have to get back to my roots and start going to concerts and music events haha. I actually really miss it! Well, have a nice day everyone!!

Copenhagen, Food and Coffee

Finally a fun day! I have been getting a bit tired of life lately- not really doing much, just sitting at home working or watching series- but this morning Bee and her boyfriend Michal took me out for brunch at Fars Dreng. It was so nice being out of the apartment and doing something fun! We went window shopping afterwards. I found a lot of nice clothes I want- and might buy! 👌🏻 I have been searching for a nice white t-shirt with a print and I think I finally found it at Wood Wood. We also went to a camera store to check out some photo gear and then I went to a book store and got two books- the age of innocence and Hemingway's collection of stories. Started reading age of innocence now! I have been meaning to get that book for years! I ended up getting a coffee at Starbucks with a cinnamon roll before heading home and I spent maybe an hour reading in the cafe. In general I love reading in cafes! Especially if they have big comfy chairs haha! I am still not sure what I will do later today- might go out/ might stay in! But it was really nice spending half a day away from the apartment haha!

Copenhagen, Food and Coffee

Hey guys! I had school at 8 this morning so I woke up around 6:20, had a shower, morning coffee etc. them we found out someone had jumped under a train at Vesterport, which is one of the main train stops in Copenhagen- so the trains were not coming properly and Djanour and I were late for class. I HATE being late, usually it is nice to settle down before the lecture starts so that you can pay attention from the very beginning, but when you are late it means that you pretty much enter during the teachers thought and it is harder to catch on- but I managed. After class I walked my friend Nima to her meeting at a different campus. I started feeling a bit nauseous and sick, so I decided I would go home and chill, but since the weather is so nice and warm I wanted to walk home- thought the fresh air would help. I stopped at Rist, a Vesterbo cafe to have a coffee and read for tomorrow's class. I also got a chocolate croissant- I LOVE THOSE! Soon I will head home and maybe sleep a little bit, but at least I have the reading done now! I really hope I won't become sick because I don't want to miss class tomorrow! Well, wish me luck! Have a lovely Monday!!!
